Beginner’s Guide
Everyone starts knowing nothing at one time or another. It’s never fun to be the noob, getting pwned with crazy weapons and upgrades. However it’s not as bad as you think it is. Come read up on the basics so you’ll be prepared for the arena! Don’t go in un-prepared!
Game Rules
The rules for Metal Drift are pretty simple, but in their simplicity lies a lot of strategy and co-operative play. Grab the ball and bring it to the other teams goal to score, or blast people away. Read inside for more details on the specific rules.
Weapons
Starting with the fast and powerful Pulse Cannon, you’ll systematically unlock 7 different weapons. Each one has a very different and unique balance, guaranteeing that you can kick trash with any one of them. Come read about each one in detail.
Upgrades
Just like the weapons, the upgrades are systematically unlocked. When first starting the game you’re equipped with Auto-Repair, your early ticket to staying alive and helping out your teammates. As you level up, you’ll learn about 8 different tank upgrades, each one benefiting you and your team in a specific way. Learn the fine details about each one of them here.
The HUD
Your tank’s Heads Up Display is both beautiful and detailed. In fact, half of the HUD may not even be noticed the first time you load up Metal Drift. Learn about each element of the HUD and get the info you need when in the middle of a mass of carnage!
Maneuvering
Remember you’re piloting a hover tank, and with it comes all the pros and cons of not physically touching the ground. Learn how to turn the drift aspect of your tank into a weapon instead of a hindrance. Everyone runs into walls, it takes practice. Inside we’ll break down each aspect of how to go where you want to, instead of being a wall magnet.
The Arena
Each Drift Deck is filled with specific things to watch out for. Whether it’s the colored force fields, goal pads, repair stations, or boost tunnels, knowing what’s around you means you’ll never be at a loss when you need to be quick on your feet.
Drift Decks
So far there are 5 Drift Decks, with a 6th on the way. Each Deck has a different layout and therefore a different set of strategies. Check out overhead maps of every deck and follow the best routes to your opponents goal.
Scoring
Goals, Goal Assists, Kills, Kill assists. Find out how to rack up the score and put yourself on the global leaderboard. There’s nothing more satisfying than working your way up that tier ladder.
Leveling Up
Both your tanks and weapons level up, unlocking new weapons, upgrades, and power levels. Knowing when each thing will unlock will keep you satiated and let you spend time perfecting what you already have. Being well rounded is the key to long term success.
Tank Types
You’ll see several different colors of tanks flying around the Drift Decks. Know what the colors and shades mean so you know whether to run to live and fight another day. Some tanks don’t stop… ever.
