Leading The Enemy

Leading the enemy is a primary skill to pick up to play Metal Drift effectively. Aiming at a still target is easy, but calculating where your fired round and that target tank will meet is a little different. If your gun fires fast rounds like the Temporal Cannon, minimal leading is required at short range. When the target is farther away, such as with the Ion Cannon, a great deal of thought must be given to where the target will be.
The Missile Launcher provides a unique spin on leading the enemy when used at close range. Most players will find it difficult to accurately track a tank directly in their face. Leading your target within a few meters of you may give a bullseye shot for the rockets to travel towards. In open battleground scenarios, the rockets will loop around to give you a second chance should you miss, so keep your aim on and fire more rockets.
When leading an enemy, keep in mind what obstacles are in front of him. The target may pass behind a wall where your round will not find him. He may also crash into this wall, giving you a temporarily stationary target. Friendlies may also block your shots, so be sure not to shoot them and deplete your power bar.
