Battle 5 – June 25, 2011 - Gameplay

This is a dang fine match recorded by both Firestar and Dcooney at the same time. It’s pretty cool to watch both at the same time, getting mirror images of each other. Both Dcooney and Firestar are stinkin’ formidable, and quite a few cool tactics can be gleaned from their separate play styles. Anyway, wanted to share some notable moments in this match.

In the first video (Dcooney’s perspective) check out these times:

    *Through the wall kill: 1:57
    *Inches-close save: 2:50
    *Sick Goal Assist: 3:45
    *Hyperspace clean up: 8:00

Dcooney, Firestar, DRYICE, lejari7000, Gaulven, Ninjdood.

Battle – Burnside – June 22, 2011 - Gameplay

Another Burnside video, we see some pretty intense fighting, as well as DRYICE dishing out some kills like usual.

Also in the video: PredatorDDD, Firestar (Me), Dogface57, DRYICE, CM12, Jig007, Leboni, Matacks, and Shwah.

Battle – Burnside – June 21, 2011 - Gameplay

Burnside is my favorite map, and also quite confusing. It’s very easy to end up getting lost on your trip to the goal, or to confuse any would-be killers. Auto Repair can be great on this map if used correctly, as repair stations are far apart.

If you want to see a great goal, check out 4:35 where SnakEyes makes an amazing goal.

Players in this game are Firestar (me), DRYICE, CM12, Dogface57, Matacks, Shwah, SnakEyes, Mirabella, SpeedDemon, and NinjDood.

Pickup – Diamondback – Mar 27, 2011 - Gameplay

This is your typical low-scoring Diamondback match. Diamondback, when played right, is quite the scoring effort or stroke of luck to score. From wiweeyum’s perspective you can see some Shock Cannon work as well as camping from the goal with the Ion Cannon.

Players include: Electronaut(Developer), SnakEyes, DRYICE, wiweeyum, Dogface57

Pickup – Master – Mar 27, 2011 - Gameplay

This is a full match played on Master. The video is recorded by wiweeyum(note his awesome VIP tank) and showcases the Pulse and Shock Cannons. With Electronaut, DRYICE and others, the action is fast and goals are faster.

Pickup – Broadsword – Mar 27, 2011 - Gameplay

Broadsword, Electronaut’s and my favorite map (aside from Javelin… darn you Electro!), is just awesome. I love the asymmetrical nature of the map and how the ball can go deep into the map or just jump through the pit over and over. Please excuse my Stealth upgrade. I don’t use it often, and was trying to get some practice. There are a lot of subtleties to using the upgrades that I never noticed before. I keep being amazed at how well balanced Metal Drift really is. Awesome job Black Jacket Studios!

The players in this match are Wiweeyum(me), Electronaut, SnakEyes, and DRYICE.

Pickup – Burnside – Mar 27, 2011 - Gameplay

This is a fantastic full match played on Burnside as seen by wiweeyum. Using the Shock Cannon to start and switching to the Ion later, you can really see the fast goals possible here. The importance of solid defense is most obvious on this map, and a combination of good knockback shots with a little speed make high scores possible.

MD Advanced – Diamondback – Mar 16, 2011 - Gameplay

This one’s recorded by me, it means it’s a video full of NOT pwning much. I’m not that bad, but certainly not good either. I have a cool black tank so everyone thinks I’m good. Bwahaha! It’s my tactic to run into walls. In fact, at about 4:00 left in the match I get the ball for a run. Once up at the Triax goal, DRYICE drove in front of me, so I decided to pass the ball to him so he could get it in quicker. Sadly I pulled my most glorious “goal fail” I’ve ever done. :) I’ve got it saved in a folder that’s filling up for a sweet fail clip montage. Just you wait.

MD Advanced – Master – Mar 16, 2011 - Gameplay

I jumped in late and caught the last few minutes of this Metal Drift Advanced event. DRYICE, Phileksa, and myself playing Master. There’s some pretty sweet footage of DRYICE and Phileksa doing some seriously practiced stuff, and I actually managed to get a goal! I don’t do that very often, so I’m pretty excited about it actually. :) Sadly, with only three people playing it wasn’t recorded on the global stats board. *sigh* Another day I guess… another day.

Pickup Music Video – Jun 25, 2010 - Gameplay

This full match played on Master from Slamscape’s tank comes complete with Plasma Launcher action and a tasty jam over the original audio. Slamscape racks up no shortage of kills in this match, so watch and enjoy the rock.
